The Wilden sent to editor

Well, it finally happened. I sent my first novel to an editor. It will be a couple months before I see the results, then a few more while I fix the final manuscript, add front matter, cover, copyright, etc. Then it will show up on amazon.

As it stands now it is 68,000 words. That’s around 220 pages depending on the book size and margins. It’s a little bit of a strange style with talking animals, magic, and some ninja style combat. I just wanted something fun, lighthearted, and challenging to write for my first attempt. I don’t expect it to be any amazing smash-hit debut, but I’m hopeful that it will be enjoyable for others. It was fun to write.

Now I’m starting on another book. This one is science fiction. Space and spaceships. I won’t say any more yet 🙂

The Wilden: Daydream

Step by step, in the dark silence, Hamme shuffled. He wondered if he would ever find anything down there, or if he did find something would he want to find it? His mind wandered as he slowly droned downward. Green treetops and bright sunshine appeared, feeling more like reality the longer he focused on it. Creaking wooden steps became croaking green frogs. Water dripping into puddles became birds chirping. His visions had nearly taken over, ruling his senses. The pads on his paw began to numb as they rubbed against the rough wood railing with a grip too firm. Hamme was there, no longer at the sett, or in the darkness. He had arrived at the place he wanted to be all along, and he didn’t want to leave. Paradise had sprouted before him and the memory of where he had been moments ago having already faded.
